Today is an exciting day in not only the CR TEFL school, but also in all of Samara and Costa Rica!
We are excited here are the school because it is the first day that our student teachers are in action! They are going great! Several have prior experience teaching and others it is their first time, but from the looks of it – everyone seems to have had experience! They really are doing great!
Its a big day in Samara because tomorrow is Independence day, and today all the local children and many businesses make “faroles” – Spanish for lanterns, and they parade them around town once the sun has set. It is a truly lovely tradition. The air is a buzz with the sound of drums and bells because tomorrow is the big independence day parade! It will be great to see all the kids out there drumming along at 8 in the morning.
So it is a big week in CR TEFL and all of Costa Rica! Our students are settling in, meeting you friends, learning about a new culture, but most importantly they are getting first had experience Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
